Electronic Technician
The Louisiana Department Of Transportation and Development is committed to sustaining safe and reliable infrastructure in Louisiana. They are seeking an Electronic Technician to install, repair, and maintain traffic signal equipment and other electrical components throughout District 61.

Responsibilities
Directs and trains lower-level Electronic Technician Trainees and other maintenance personnel on an as-needed basis
Makes repairs and replaces of electronic and electrical/mechanical components needed to ensure correct signal operation
Erects electronic signal cabinets
Maintains and installs electronic and electrical systems for aviation and navigation lights on moveable and stationary bridges. This involves climbing a minimum of 200 feet
Installs, adjusts voltage on and maintains electrical equipment such as motors, switches, lighting three phase electronic monitors, and high and low voltage transformers with 7200 volts and lower
Maintains, dismantles and/or repairs generators
Maintains marine electrical systems on pontoons at Ferry landings
Will be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities
Qualification
Required
A valid Louisiana Class “B” Commercial Driver's License is required upon appointment
Two years of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR
Two years of experience or training in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software); OR
Possession of a CompTIA A+ Certification plus one of the following: One year of experience in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR One year of experience in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software)
Must possess an appropriate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) radio-telephone license when working with marine and aviation transmitting equipment or with radar
