Flight Test Control Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide Flight Test Ground Operations engineering support
Coordinate and execute pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's test readiness
Issue and close documentation relating to work performed on the aircraft
Coordinate aircraft modifications
Control and track aircraft configuration
Coordinate and stage support equipment
Develop and maintain aircraft test schedules
Coordinate with other organizations associated with test readiness
Read and interpret schematics and troubleshoot
Have knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and support equipment
Have knowledge of avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems
Perform fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level
Possess good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment
Author test and technical documents (EIR/TCTD/AOL/GML, etc.) and oversee their execution
Act as the principal focal point between maintenance and engineering personnel
Interface with all levels of project management
Demonstrate above average oral and written communication skills
Exhibit exceptional planning and coordinating skills

Required

Flight Test Ground Operations engineering support for F-35 aircraft
Coordination and execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's test readiness
Issuance and closure of documentation relating to work performed on the aircraft
Coordination of aircraft modifications
Control and tracking of aircraft configuration
Coordinating and staging of support equipment
Developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules
Coordinating with other organizations associated with test readiness
Schematic reading/interpretation/troubleshooting
Knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and Support equipment
Knowledge of avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems
Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level
Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment
Authoring test and technical documents (EIR/TCTD/AOL/GML, etc.), plus directing and overseeing their execution
Fluent in the Flight Test Request (FTR) and T2 modification processes
Ability to interface with all levels of project management
Above average oral and written communication skills
Exceptional planning and coordinating skills
Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience
Must be a US Citizen
Ability to work extended hours and weekends either first (1st) or second (2nd) shift

Preferred

Experience working with Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
Experience Coordinating/Scheduling Aircraft Maintenance
Excellent organization and communication skills
Familiarity with JSF tools and processes including PDM, JDL, and VAS
Self-starter and logical problem solver
