Senior Risk Governance Manager
SoTalent is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Risk Governance to lead critical risk oversight activities and strengthen operational governance across their organization. This role partners closely with leadership, legal teams, and risk management functions to enhance compliance standards, assess emerging risks, and ensure the organization’s operational framework remains strong, efficient, and audit‑ready.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with business and technology partners to maintain and enhance Policies, Procedures, Job Aids, and vendor documentation
Review guideline updates with internal teams to determine required process or documentation changes
Drive timely implementation and training for new or updated requirements
Develop quality control mechanisms to validate compliance and successful rollouts
Act as a liaison with compliance teams on various review processes and screening activities
Oversee potential suspicious activity cases and coordinate communication among operational teams, legal partners, and risk functions
Lead and standardize investigative efforts related to fraud or unusual activity
Review financial and transactional documentation to support internal and external investigation requirements
Partner with compliance, legal, and external investigators to ensure thorough case management
Maintain processes, best practices, and documentation standards for identifying and mitigating suspicious activity
Support document requests, including those related to legal inquiries or subpoenas
Manage and communicate updates to high‑risk monitoring lists
Coordinate internal and external audit activities to ensure timely responses and complete documentation
Support mitigation plans and process enhancements stemming from audit findings
Provide oversight for reporting related to operational controls, QC/QA results, and key risk indicators
Maintain delegation authority frameworks for underwriting and asset management teams
Conduct periodic operational reviews to ensure adherence to documented policies and guidelines
Ensure required screenings are completed accurately and on time
Partner with vendor management teams to execute quality assurance reviews and ensure contract compliance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience
5+ years in commercial real estate, finance, compliance, economics, or business
3+ years in financial services risk management
Preferred
7+ years of experience with underwriting or asset management frameworks within multifamily or agency‑related environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to assess and manage risk aligned with organizational requirements
Familiarity with enterprise risk management methodologies
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with audit processes and compliance reporting
