Responsibilities
Install and bury fiber or copper drop cables from pedestals, handholes, or terminals to customer locations
Perform hand digging, trenching, boring, and plowing per local codes and standards
Place conduit, innerduct, or protective coverings as required
Restore soil, grass, sod, gravel, and landscaping to original condition
Identify and avoid existing utilities using markings and safe-dig practices
Coordinate with installers, dispatch, and supervisors to complete service orders
Communicate professionally with customers regarding scope and timelines
Document completed work, footage buried, materials used, and before/after conditions
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in safe working condition
Follow all safety, traffic control, and environmental regulations
Qualification
Required
Comfortable with physical labor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
Experience using hand tools, trenchers, plows, or boring equipment
Strong attention to detail and respect for customer property
Ability to read work orders, maps, and utility markings
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
Preferred
1+ year of experience in drop bury, utility locating, or underground cable work
