Electrical Design & Verification Engineer (DVE), Leo Optical ISL Development
Amazon is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites. The Design Verification Engineer will focus on the design verification of high-performance communication systems, developing test software and ensuring system requirement verification through automated functional testing and data analysis.

Responsibilities
Develop test sequences that perform automated functional checkout tests on proprietary hardware to ensure reliability and performance
Implement algorithms to analyze test data, compare results against predefined pass/fail criteria, and provide insights into the hardware's performance
Generate detailed test reports that summarize test results, including pass/fail status, and provide valuable information to the broader team
Own and manage comprehensive test procedures and execute board-level test plans
Collect test data, perform data analysis, and document results
Conduct test readiness reviews and collaborate with various stakeholders on data review activities
Work with a team of top-notch engineers and influence the overall test strategy by helping to define system test requirements
Maintain requirements traceability during testing and solve integration and test problems in real time
Qualification
Required
Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
3+ years of experience coding under Python and C/C++
Good understanding of Electrical Engineering (EE) and testing fundamentals
3+ years of experience in board-level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products OR 3+ years of experience building test fixtures and complex test systems, including integrating test software
3+ years of experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification
Experience using standard electronic lab test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes and multimeters)
Preferred
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Ability to coordinate with the engineering and test lab teams and schedule testing resources
Experience with test plans and protocols related to established space hardware testing processes
Experience with hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g., NI, Python, C/C++, and LabVIEW)
Experience with power supplies, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), sensors, and high-speed electrical signal characterization (I2C, SPI, and CANFD)
Experience designing or testing circuit boards with complex microcontrollers, system-on-chips (SoCs), or field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)
Experience with the design verification of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity, and protocol compliance
Experience developing automated test systems
Experience reviewing requirements to support various test phases
Experience as a technical lead, directing small teams of test engineers on multiple designs
