Responsibilities
Source and purchase raw materials (active ingredients, excipients, capsules, flavors) and packaging (bottles, labels, cartons)
Develop and execute cost-effective procurement strategies
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers
Manage purchase orders and supplier agreements
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance)
Partner with QA on supplier audits to ensure cGMP & FDA compliance
Track market trends and pricing fluctuations
Control purchasing budgets and reduce material costs
Collaborate with Production Planning and Warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels
Support R&D with sourcing for new product development
Coordinate with Operations, Production, Logistics, QA, and Regulatory teams
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA a plus)
5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience
Experience in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, or regulated manufacturing
Strong knowledge of raw material and packaging sourcing
Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems
Solid understanding of FDA, cGMP, and dietary supplement regulations
