Responsibilities
Lead the team through innovation in platform readiness, operational decision-making, and system maintenance through AI/ML
Identify talent needs, recruit, coach, maintain talent pipeline, and allocate team members and tooling to meet project demands
Collaborate cross-functionally to understand use cases and deliver scalable, production-grade solutions
Evaluate new capabilities or product requests. Estimate effort, cost, and impact, and create actionable plans
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field and 5+ year of professional experience
3+ years of experience in technical leadership with a focus on AI engineering, software development, or a related field
Experience with scripting languages and tools such as Python
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Math, Physics or a related field
Experience AI Engineering discipline and familiarity with Lockheed Martin's AI initiatives
Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab)
Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization
Experience with large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI applications
Familiarity with model interpretability, explainability, and transparency
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
