Responsibilities

Provides support for initial, interim and closeout tasks of project management functions
Organizes, manages, and maintains project records
Prepares and maintains budgets for limited size project scopes and schedules (e.g., rural road construction)
Tracks financial obligations and expenditures
Selects and adapts standard procedures to apply to project review of scope of project, design plans, and specifications
Prepares draft contract documentation and correspondence when needed
Provides recommendations and guidance when needed
Understands regulations and has the ability to interpret plans and specifications, and performs inspection and analyses of civil engineering construction contract documentation and records for a limited size project, e.g., rural road construction
Independently inspects project documentation, construction records, and submittals
Organizes, prepares and maintains project records, documentation, databases, and correspondence
Able to analyze, process, organize, extract, compile, interpret, compute and maintain project scoping data, engineering field notes, engineering contract documentation and records, budgeting records, and database records
Able to analyze, process, organize, extract, compile, and interpret engineering manuals and standard engineering practices
Analyzes rudimentary information, and contracts personnel in related activities to initiate communication in problem solving
Provides support for planning, organizing and managing training on project management, technical engineering design and inspection, and construction inspection and administration
Must use initiative to address problems and proactively plan for anticipated tasks based on historical work flow
Must perform independently and in a group setting, using critical thinking skills to provide solutions

Required

A minimum one year college education progressing towards an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or related degree
At least one year progressive experience working in construction project administration for a general contractor or for a Civil Engineering, Architectural, or Construction Project Management agency/firm
At least one year of experience supporting Local, State or Federal construction projects
Knowledge of construction technology, industry terminology, scheduling, construction practices, methods, techniques, costs, materials, and equipment
Experience managing database applications and document controls
Understanding of construction financial reporting
Proficiency in word processing and developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrable skill in analyzing, planning, and coordinating business activities
