Responsibilities
Define and implement enterprise data governance strategy, standards, and operating model
Configure and manage Microsoft Purview for data discovery, cataloging, and governance
Establish governance processes covering metadata, master data, data quality, lineage, and stewardship
Integrate Purview with data platforms and source systems
Design and maintain metadata models and standards, classification taxonomies, master data governance models, lineage frameworks, and business glossary workflows
Define and implement data quality frameworks and metrics; embed data quality checks into pipelines; monitor issues and drive remediation
Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures; support regulatory compliance and collaborate on data access, retention, and privacy
Work closely with data engineering, analytics, security, and business teams to ensure governance controls across cloud and on-prem data platforms
Develop Python-based automation for metadata ingestion, classification updates, lineage extraction, reporting, and workflow validation
Qualification
Required
15+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Architecture
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate
Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure)
Exposure to CI/CD and version control for data models
Knowledge of metadata management and data governance tools
Proven experience building governance components: metadata management, data classifications, master data governance, lineage & business glossary
Strong understanding of data quality frameworks and tools
Experience in policy development and governance operating models
Hands-on experience with Python automation
Solid understanding of data integration concepts and architectures
Waste management or oil and gas domain knowledge
