SENIOR ELECTRICAL TESTER
City Light & Power, Inc. is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with over twenty years of experience in electrical utility system ownership and operations. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Tester to join their Testing Team to perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical power equipment, requiring extensive travel and expertise in various electrical systems.

Responsibilities
Create plans for testing apparatus
Understand the theory behind and reason for testing with the ability to analyze results
Instrument transformer tests such as CT's/PT's/CCVT's/MU's
Power transformer testing - Power Factor, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc
Cable testing - VLF/TD/PD
Automatic transfer switch testing & troubleshooting
Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear, SF6 and vacuum circuit breaker testing
Moderately complex relay calibration and power metering
Ability to perform complex troubleshooting
Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning
Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed
Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely
Interact positively with customers
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in electrical testing
US Citizenship
Ability to travel up to 75%
Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards
Must have good PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel
Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods
Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member
Valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy
Ability to perform complex troubleshooting
Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or previous military experience
NETA or NICET Certification (III or IV) or similar
Experience with PowerDB
OSHA 10 or 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training
