Intern - Budget Research
The City of New York's Comptroller’s Office is seeking a Budget Research Intern to support its Bureau of Budget. The intern will consolidate and analyze data, review spending, and synthesize findings to promote transparency and accountability in financial reporting and budgeting.

Highlighting key program and policy changes; and synthesizing and presenting findings

Qualification
Required
Matriculation at an accredited college
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program for the Fall 2026 semester
This position is ideal for college students pursuing majors/minors in the fields of Public Policy/Admin, Urban Planning, Economics, or Sociology
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year)
Preferred
Experience with project scoping and strong writing and presentation skills preferred
Applicants should have solid data analysis skills, including experience with Excel, Power BI and/or other software tools
Familiarity with and interest in government budgeting and programs is a plus
