Economic Development Project Manager I, II or III

Responsibilities
Spearheads and strengthens the PPL, LG&E, KU and RI economic development mission and goals
Advance communities’ preparedness of project management, sites, buildings and infrastructure needs in order to proactively market the competitive advantages of the PPL, LG&E, KU and RI territory
Acquires utility specific site information and responds to project inquiries regarding infrastructure, tariffs, rates, policies and practices of the company within the required deadlines
Maintains confidentiality of economic project details with internal and external stakeholders
Develops rapport, as liaison, with the state economic development cabinet, community constituents, site consultants, real estate executives and others, through community visits, written correspondence, telephone, and customer meetings
Responsible for fostering relationships with external stakeholders to improve the states and the company’s competitive position for site locations
Develops and maintains ongoing communication with site consultants, real estate professionals, state and community economic development partners, workforce agencies, governmental officials and other key public/private stakeholder groups
Represents the company at business attraction and marking events/conferences to promote the company’s service territory for new business expansion and relocation
Increases electric and gas revenue with economic development project opportunities to grow businesses in company’s service territory where existing infrastructure exists and can be strategically planned
Develops economic development project opportunities to grow businesses in company’s service territory
Cultivates internal company expertise on polices, tariffs, practices, regulations and system operations in the preparation for prospective customers
Experienced with economic development community partners and consultants in business growth, research and other economic development activities, including PPL, LG&E, KU and RI product and services which may add value to customers
Acquires and contacts leads utilizing interpersonal skills, marketing and computer-enhanced research methods
Research utility and economic development best practices and maintains current knowledge of industry trends and efforts
Maintains communication with management both within and across organizations to ensure smooth running of all assigned projects
Advise leadership about the project portfolio, status, budget, and resource planning for delivering strategic business projects
Establish and nurture positive relationships with customer organizations
Responsible for the development, execution, and potential start of service plan for each assigned project
Responsible for all project management activities for assigned portfolio throughout the project life cycle
Develop and manage the project communication plan
Assists in managing day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. Understands how to pull in internal resources to manage the project and scope
Proactively identify risk and mitigation plans, monitor project status, recognize negative trends and project variances, and coordinate corrective action
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Take ownership and delivery responsibility for special projects and company initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, Engineering or related field
Proficient demonstration of written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and organization skills with focus on customer service and time management
Preferred
Prior experience in direct economic development, redevelopment, real estate, public affairs, business operations or related field is
