Responsibilities
Design and deploy modular sensor stacks across multiple machine platforms, including:
LiDAR
Cameras
CAN Bus
Edge compute systems
Build and optimize low-latency AI pipelines under constrained bandwidth and compute conditions
Integrate edge AI systems with heavy machinery and autonomous platforms
Enable efficient data capture, filtering, logging, and offloading via 5G and Wi-Fi
Identify and prioritize critical data signals required for AI model training
Continuously refine data pipelines to support:
Reinforcement learning
Imitation learning
Large-scale autonomy datasets
Rapidly iterate on AI workflows and system designs to meet aggressive delivery timelines
Work onsite to mount, test, debug, and harden systems in real-world field conditions
Deliver high volumes of functional output with a strong bias toward execution
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience building AI systems for Robotics or Autonomy
Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for production systems
Experience designing and integrating multi-sensor stacks, including: LiDAR, Cameras, CAN Bus, Edge compute hardware
Prior work Experience on: Autonomous vehicles, Robotics platforms, UAV sensing systems, DIY or experimental robots operating in real-world environments
Comfortable working with: Imperfect or noisy data, Hardware limitations, Field deployments and system bring-up
Experience deploying AI systems on real machines, not simulations only
Self-starter with a strong ownership mentality
Highly autonomous and execution-focused
Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Comfortable making trade-offs to deliver results
Strong problem-solving instincts with a 'make it work' attitude
Energized by shipping in weeks, not publishing in months
Preferred
Experience with transformer-based models and AI agents
Familiarity running multiple AI agents concurrently
Exposure to: Reinforcement learning, Imitation learning, World models
Background in edge AI optimization and bandwidth-constrained systems
Previous experience at companies such as: Tesla, Uber ATG / Aurora, Cruise, Waymo (deployment teams), Zoox, Nuro, Robotics startups, Defense, industrial, agriculture, mining, or construction autonomy companies
