Responsibilities

May be a lead - facilitator or an active member of quality - performance - and process improvement initiatives
Coordinate STVHCS quality improvement activities with appropriate stakeholders
Facilitate tasks associated with data collection - compilation - analysis - and graphic display of data
Active member of committees associated with equipment procurement/inventory - Pathway to Excellence - resource and patient utilization management - performance improvement - and committees as assigned
Monitor service specific Performance Measures - Access - Consult and Encounters process - assisting in identifying clinical personnel needs - Patient Satisfaction - Patient Flow and providing data for Service Strategic Business Planning for sub specialties in both the inpatient and outpatient settings
Assist in identifying problem areas and provide management with solutions to correct poor work situations - and prevent potential problems - including staff shortages
Lead or assist the Patient Care Services in negotiating - planning - implementing - and monitoring all Systems Redesign and Performance Measurement programs that affect Patient Care Services
Assist supervisors - faculty - and staff in projecting needed changes based on data and recommend appropriate actions to improve performance
Performs other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm Telework: This position may be authorized for telework
Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement
For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization
Examples of specialized experience would typically include - but are not limited to: Ability to gather and interpret and analyze data - workload - performance - and financial information using various sources; knowledge of the full spectrum of health care management - health care services and the processes to deliver these services; knowledge of the principles of financial management - human resources management - organizational structuring and strategic planning; comprehensive knowledge of health care administration; comprehensive and detailed understanding of Medical Center organizational structure - and knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience
To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. - if related. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level
You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond graduate education. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience - including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. - Peace Corps - AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. - professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social)
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience - including volunteer experience
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week
Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities
Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment
Physical Requirements: Work is mainly sedentary in nature to include work at a desk and computer terminal
The work will involve standing - sitting - and walking
Physical demands involve walking to meet work contacts and attendance at meetings
Demands may involve some lifting and carrying of office supplies and/or files
Traveling off-station to various meetings is necessary and working overtime hours may be necessary in order to accomplish job responsibilities
