Navy 911 Engineer (Government)

Responsibilities
Performs and supervises general maintenance of 911 equipment and circuits
Responsible for providing Subject Matter Expertise to the Navy 911 Service Manager for any system emergencies that may arise
Conducts network infrastructure site surveys and develops corresponding diagrams, rack elevation drawings, and other technical artifacts
Manages all installation and maintenance activities for the Navy 911 network
Provides Subject Matter Expertise to the Service Manager to meet contract response times when issues occur
Supervises the investigation of any problems involving customers, telephone companies, PSAPs, ALI database providers, and other entities
Collaborates with the AT&T Navy 911 Program Prime Contractor to determine solutions and develop implementation plans to correct issues and meet customer expectations
After implementing solutions, supervises follow-up quality control testing with all concerned parties to ensure successful resolution
Assists the Service Manager with trouble reports
Works closely with AT&T Public Safety and the Navy 911 RMS Prime Contractor to facilitate system upgrades for various CPE (Customer Premise Equipment), GIS Database, and VoIP systems. This includes all AT&T-owned software and hardware associated within each system and requires in-depth knowledge of each piece of equipment
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
5+ years in deploying/supporting 911 emergency services
Familiarity with NENA 911 standards
Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years as a telecommunications engineer
Or 12+ years as a telecommunications engineer
Self-motivated
Capable of working independently as well as in a team
Strong technical background
Effective written and oral communication skills with precise data
Willingness to travel and be on-call
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
Knowledge of computer systems and software
Eligibility for certification on the equipment serviced by AT&T
Clearable to Secret (#clearable) (#secret)
Preferred
ENP Certification or meet the professional qualification to sit for ENP exam
