LEC - Life Enrichment Coordinator / Skills Development Specialist / Part-time, Rotating Shifts, Day / Evening
The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to improving the well-being and quality of life for all Minnesotans. They are seeking a Skills Development Specialist to create life engagement activities for residents, particularly those with dementia, while also educating and leading staff and families in individualized programming.

Responsibilities
Creating life engagement activities and programs to reduce out of character responses to enhance quality of life and quality of care outcomes
Developing and implementing individualized programming
Educating, coaching, and leading other interdisciplinary staff and residents’ families in carrying out individual program plans to ensure consistency in implementation
Qualification
Required
Two (2) years of experience performing work providing care support
Knowledge of patient care with dementia and/or other related conditions
Knowledge of life enrichment principles and techniques sufficient to plan, design, and implement resident programs
Ability to demonstrate training methods sufficient to motivate and guide employees
Preferred
Experience in skilled/long term care
Training and coaching experience in a direct care setting
Experience writing, modifying, or evaluating program plans
Degree in Human Services or related field
