Senior Data Engineer

EPAM Georgia is a team of innovators united by a passion for technology, seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to build and manage efficient data systems. The ideal candidate will implement and optimize ETL processes, design robust database structures, and collaborate with teams to deliver data solutions that add meaningful business value.

Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, and optimize ETL processes to ensure efficient data transfer across systems
Design, develop, and maintain robust database structures, schemas, and data processing pipelines
Develop and optimize SQL queries to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting needs
Maintain and enhance data quality and consistency across various systems
Manage the configuration and deployment of online data tools such as Microsoft Fabric
Collaborate with teams to support SAP Business Objects' Universes and Microsoft Dataverse
Troubleshoot and resolve data-loading issues, ensuring system performance and reliability
Create and maintain a comprehensive data inventory, dictionary, and metadata documentation
Build secure database systems, manage access, and ensure data privacy compliance
Perform database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery planning
Engage with stakeholders to identify data requirements and deliver customized solutions
Support the analytics team by providing well-structured and accessible datasets

Required

3+ years of relevant experience in Database Management and Operations
Proficiency in SQL, database structures, and data modeling
Knowledge of ETL processes and familiarity with related tools
Expertise in Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft SQL Server
Competency in troubleshooting data pipelines and refining system performance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
Solid communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
A background in self-managing tasks and working with minimal supervision
Ability to think critically while maintaining attention to detailed project elements
Flexibility to work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve shared objectives
English language proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Preferred

Membership in a relevant professional organization
Background in Azure cloud technologies
Familiarity with Big Data tools such as Spark and Databricks
Experience with SAP Business Objects and Alteryx
Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, and/or Oracle PL/SQL
