Senior Group Facilitator (LPC/LCSW)

Aspire Recovery Centers is a PHP and IOP program providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment for adults with addiction and co-occurring mental-health disorders. They are seeking an experienced, independently licensed clinician to serve as a Senior Group Facilitator for their Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs, focusing on group therapy facilitation, clinical supervision, and program development.

Responsibilities

Facilitate group therapy sessions in both PHP and IOP levels of care for adults with substance use and co‑occurring mental health disorders (process groups, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and skills-based groups)
Provide individual sessions and crisis intervention as clinically indicated within PHP and IOP
Conduct or support intake assessments and ongoing clinical reviews, incorporating ASAM criteria into level-of-care and continued-stay decisions
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans and safety plans
Complete timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation in Sunwave EHR (Sunwave experience strongly preferred)
Provide clinical supervision (individual and/or group) to counselors, residents/supervisees, and paraprofessional staff, with a focus on skill-building, clinical quality, and documentation excellence
Offer clinical consultation on complex cases, ASAM level-of-care determinations, risk assessment, and safety planning
Support onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of clinical team members to promote a collaborative, high-performing culture
Draw on prior management or team-lead experience (e.g., clinical supervisor, program coordinator, business or operations management) to support day-to-day clinical operations within the PHP/IOP continuum
Participate actively in policy and procedure development, including clinical protocols, documentation standards, and workflow improvements
Contribute to QA/QI initiatives, including chart reviews, outcomes monitoring, and implementation of corrective actions or enhancements
Collaborate with leadership to refine PHP and IOP curriculum, scheduling, and programming to improve engagement, outcomes, and client experience

Required

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field from an accredited program
Active, independent Virginia clinical license: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT (required)
5+ years of post-master's clinical experience, with strong background in substance use and co‑occurring disorder treatment, ideally in PHP, IOP, or residential settings
Demonstrated expertise in adult group therapy
Solid working knowledge and practical use of ASAM criteria for assessment, level-of-care decisions, continued stay, and discharge planning
Documented experience providing clinical supervision to clinicians, residents, or interns (required for this senior role)

Preferred

Prior formal management or leadership experience (e.g., clinical supervisor, program coordinator, business or operations management, team lead in a non-clinical setting)
Experience in policy development, QA/QI, and/or accreditation/audit processes
Proficiency with Sunwave EHR or other behavioral health EMRs
Training and experience in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT-informed skills, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care
