Early Intervention Service Coordinator

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians. The Early Intervention Service Coordinator will provide direct service coordination for children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and support their families/caregivers, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and state policies.

Responsibilities

Provide direct service coordination for children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and their families/caregivers
Develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with families and providers
Work with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families’ needs for supports and services
Conduct home visits and coordinate and facilitate services and transition planning
Participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services

Required

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served
Bachelor's degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to drive and travel by car across the CDSA's defined catchment area

Preferred

Experience working with children in the age range 0 – 5 and their families, including children with developmental delays
Knowledge of young child development, including developmental milestones
Experience working with and collaborating with families and other professionals
Knowledge of evidence-based practices used in working with young children and families, such as natural learning environment practices and caregiver coaching
Fluency in a second language
