Lands Technician - Open until filled
Southern Ute Indian Tribe is seeking a Lands Technician to provide technical and clerical support to the Lands Division. The role involves assisting Tribal Membership and the public with land status issues, Crossing Permits, and general land management inquiries.

Responsibilities
Provides technical and clerical support to the Lands Division
Provides general information to the Tribal Membership and general public regarding land status issues, Crossing Permits, and general land management related issues
Qualification
Required
Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must have 1 year of experience working with natural resources management/land/realty issues
Must have 1 year of experience in reviewing legal documents, such as Deeds of Trust, Warranty Deeds, Quit Claim Deeds, or contracts and leases related to realty or real property transactions
Must have 1 year of experience in reviewing and interpreting legal descriptions, plats or preparing maps
Must have 1 year of clerical experience
Must have a strong background in computer software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able to pass a Lands Division skills test
Must have valid Driver's license for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal Vehicle Insurance Policy
Must pass a thorough criminal history background check and pre-employment drug test
Preferred
Strong computer skills in GIS/Arcview, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Tribal and Federal land related law
Knowledge of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation, Tribal natural resources, and land ownership status
