Sr. Control Systems Designer

Responsibilities
Lead complex construction package development with minimal engineering guidance while mentoring junior engineers
Manage design budgets, schedules, and team coordination
Specify and review control panel layouts, wiring, and BOMs
Develop complex P&IDs and translate them into sophisticated control system documents
Provide independent quality checks for co-workers while ensuring Project Services Quality System compliance for entire teams
Lead by example in technical excellence
Qualification
Required
Experience: 10-25 years in I&C design on Oil & Gas, Refining, and/or Petrochemical projects
Technical Skills: Expert AutoCAD, complex P&ID development, advanced PLC/DCS design
Leadership: Design budget development, team prioritization, complex project management
Communication: Exceptional written, spoken, and interpersonal abilities
Physical: Heavy industrial facility expertise, advanced field evaluation skills
Complex control panel design and wiring expertise
Advanced NEC-hazardous area system design
Construction package leadership ($1MM to $30MM TIC)
Drawing consistency and quality error detection/solution
Vendor document review and integration capabilities
Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time
Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering calls
Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching
Must be able to lift 15 lbs if necessary
Visual acuity sufficient for reading documents, computer screens, and technical materials
Ability to communicate effectively verbally in-person, by phone, and via video conferencing
Hearing ability adequate for meetings, presentations, and collaboration
Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods while managing multiple priorities
Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as business needs require
Able to travel to job sites (local and/or remote) as project needs require
Able to work in heavy industrial environments while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, etc.)
Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on elevated surfaces
Able to walk on uneven terrain and surfaces
May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments during site visits
This is a safety-sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing and complying with all company drug and alcohol testing policies. Including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing
Preferred
A.A.S. or higher in engineering or related discipline
INtools (SPI) mastery
Comprehensive electrical design experience
Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) expertise
Industrial facility maintenance/reliability/projects experience
