Information Security Specialist 1
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is offering an opportunity for an Information Security Specialist 1 in the Security Office. This role involves safeguarding information system assets by identifying and responding to IT security threats and incidents, as well as monitoring security applications and tools.

Responsibilities
Monitor IT security applications and tools to detect anomalies, assess alerts, and differentiate false positives from actual threats
Investigate alerts to identify root causes, resolve or escalate incidents to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and ensure compliance with established policy and procedures
Schedule and conduct vulnerability scans to identify system vulnerabilities
Define corrective actions and identify residual risks, creating and implementing compensating controls to mitigate vulnerabilities, and monitoring ongoing progress
Monitor and analyze vulnerability dashboards and security incident reports using established tools
Respond to user access requests, granting or denying them based upon established policy and procedure
Route and respond to user support requests
Qualification
Required
One year as a Network Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years of experience performing technical work in information technology security, network support, or network administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
A bachelor's degree in any information technology field
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation
An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code
Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
