Inventory Control Assistant Manager
Xanterra Travel Collection is seeking an Inventory Control Assistant Manager at The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon, responsible for overseeing inventory operations at all Tusayan sites. The role involves managing the procurement cycle, ensuring compliance with inventory procedures, and providing exceptional service to guests and departments.

Responsibilities
Fully understand and support Legendary Hospitality Standards, Xanterra Mission Statements and Core Values
Focus on always providing exceptional quality service to internal and external guests
Support all departments by sourcing approved products, monitoring costs, and processing daily food and non-food orders
Manage the full procurement cycle, including ordering, receiving, storing, transferring, and returning items
Always follow inventory procedures, ensuring proper product rotation in accordance with First In/First Out (FIFO) standards, while maintaining compliance with Serve Safe, Alcohol control, Risk management, Sustainability, and Ergonomic policies, during all handling and storage activities
Inspect the quality of items upon arrival and refuse any product not deemed to be acceptable, or any shipment not authorized; ensure SDS sheets are updated before releasing inventory
Ensure accurate documentation of stock requisitions, credit paperwork, and vendor feedback related to product quality, delivery, and pricing. Maintain inventory systems, procurement templates, and cost tracking tools in line with company standards
Responsible for the sanitation and cleanliness of all storage areas immediately following the receiving and storing of all items
Participate in monthly physical inventory count, verification, and data entry. This also includes rectifying discrepancies and researching the cause of all variances
Maintain cost keeping records for high dollar and contracted items to ensure that pricing is accurate and to help the property make informed decisions
Assist the Purchasing Manager or Operations Manager in providing menu ideas, pricing and new products, as they become available from suppliers
Participate in vendor/purveyor or new product selection, review and set up with corporate expectations
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
One year warehouse supervisor experience preferably with food and perishables
Ability to organize and prioritize your daily routine
Computer proficient, have a strong understanding and ability to effectively operate a computer, navigate through software applications, and utilize various digital tools such as Word, Excel and purchasing/inventory tracking software
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, ordering and inventory tracking software
Ability to communicate in a positive and concise manner
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with employees, vendors and clients
Ability to accomplish common tasks with little direct supervision
Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
Basic food sanitation knowledge in handling perishable products
Knowledge of, or ability to learn food and beverage items including product specs, freshness, timetables and delivery schedules
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
Physical Requirements include: Constantly lift/carry up to 20 lbs., and push pull up to 12 lbs. Frequently: stand, walk, handle items, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and push pull up to 25lbs. Occasionally: sit, and reach outward & above shoulder, climb, crawl, lift/carry up to 100 lbs., and push pull up to 100 lbs. Work in inclement weather conditions
