Facilities and Operations Office Manager
Kentwood Public Schools is seeking a Facilities and Operations Office Manager to assist the Director of Facilities and Operations in coordinating daily operations and maintenance personnel. The role involves developing strategies for customer service excellence and overseeing various operational tasks to ensure efficient facility management.

Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the daily work of maintenance, grounds, and skilled trades teams, including managing sick call-in coverage, overseeing contracted services, and administering labor contracts
Lead the departmental personnel process, including conducting interviews, training new hires, evaluating performance, and making recommendations for assignments, promotions, or disciplinary actions
Prioritize and manage the work order system to ensure all maintenance tasks and repairs are completed expeditiously and in accordance with district standards and school policy
Develop and implement comprehensive daily, weekly, and annual preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the long-term quality and efficient operation of all district buildings and grounds
Oversee and document all state-regulated inspections, including HVAC certifications and AHERA asbestos regulations, to ensure full compliance with federal and state code requirements
Operate Facilities Management Systems (FMX) to program and monitor climate control, lighting, and HVAC schedules for daily operations and special district events
Partner with the Director on facility projects, including renovations, remodeling, grounds preparation, and logistical support for events such as furniture moves and set-up/tear-down
Manage the procurement lifecycle for supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring accurate inventory levels and strict adherence to district purchasing procedures
Maintain financial accountability by tracking and auditing P-Card expenses for maintenance staff
Oversee day-to-day office operations, including shipping and receiving, monitoring messaging systems, and managing departmental communications
Serve as a point of contact for facility-related complaints, implementing proper remedies and ensuring high-quality customer service for the district
Provide on-call support for facility emergencies and report as needed to resolve critical system failures or urgent repairs
Maintain the flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, to oversee district events and ensure operational continuity
All other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Operations

Qualification
Required
Post high school training and/or minimum of two years' experience in one of the areas of building construction and maintenance preferred
General supervisory experience
Valid Michigan Driving License
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in leadership or related experience preferred
School or industrial operations experience preferred
