Materials Coordinator

The Materials Coordinator will support project objectives, manage material procurement, and ensure compliance with company policies while collaborating with engineering teams to meet project timelines.

Responsibilities
Support specific project and program objectives as defined in the areas of responsibility, and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning, among others) are completed
Support projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion
Ensures that all phases of project, program and/or process development are documented and that information required in other functional areas is reported, disseminated, or transferred, as appropriate. Ensures compliance with Company policies regarding Engineering/Lab notebooks, patents, confidentiality and safety
Undertake study of new technologies, as appropriate
Support data collection for materials & financial resources
Understand sourcing strategy for R&D parts and advise team on best method
Working with engineering to manage part procurement & logistic end-to-end
Responsible for getting materials in for R&D team in timely manner
Own/processing all Purchase requests, follow up with approvals, PO and delivery dates
Work side by side with buyers to get quotes, and manage push outs/late delivery
Follow up with part delivery, logistics to get parts to engineering on time
Understand part logistic and help to find/locate parts when missing
Assist with shipping parts domestic and international
Picking up parts from warehouse and delivering to requesters as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
Must be able to maintain alignment across a wide range of stakeholders; host meeting to align on materials status and communicate changes
Ability to work on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities
Must be comfortable presenting program status to management
Preferred
BA degree or higher in business/administration/supply chain is preferred
SAP experience is preferred
