Intern, R&D Graduate Year Round - Gas Phase Physical Chemistry, Onsite
Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation. They are seeking a year round R&D Graduate Student Intern to join their team in the Gas Phase Physical Chemistry Department, where the intern will work on developing Python codes for high-performance computing and collaborate with other researchers.

Responsibilities
Work on the design, development, implementation, and testing of python codes for high-performance computing environments to generate and process high volumes of molecular data
Interact with other theorists and experimentalists in the department to maintain a collaborative environment
Work on the documentation of your work in the form of a report, manuscript, or internal presentation
Qualification
Required
Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S
Preferred
Earned master's degree in chemistry, physics, or related area
Currently enrolled in an accredited Chemistry or Chemical Engineering program or related discipline
Good communication skills as evidenced by a record of publication of results in peer-reviewed journals and external presentations at scientific conferences
Experience with computational research and technique development
Substantial experience with Python and HPC
Working experience with at least one leading quantum chemistry code
Experience in machine learning
