Responsibilities

Perform advanced spatial analysis and create high-quality GIS visuals that support transmission and generation studies, energy markets, and real-time operations critical to grid reliability
Develop, maintain, and enhance GIS applications and geodatabases using tools such as ArcGIS, Oracle, JavaScript, and Python
Manage complex data entry, maintain geodatabase metadata, and produce professional maps and visual products for presentations, reports, and publications
Collaborate closely with GIS and IT teams to support high-availability (24/7) systems and to develop web-based mapping and spatial analysis tools used across the organization
Manage and maintain GIS documentation—including user manuals, processes, data models, and testing oversight
Partner with internal stakeholders to support data collection, map development, and transmission system updates

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with coursework in Geography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or closely related field
Three (3) years of professional GIS experience
Experience with ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop
Effective and efficient understanding of cartographic design principles
Effective ability to perform spatial data analysis through the use of mapping software
Ability to design digital maps with geographic data and other data sources
Ability to import, export, and create spatial data
Demonstrate the ability to create custom layouts (both hard-copy and digital)
Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
Strong inter-personal and teamwork skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competent working skills with communication and data handling software such as the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Access
Demonstrated experience with Oracle and ESRI software packages
Basic understanding of Python and how it relates to ESRI products
Experience using various spatial analysis techniques
Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures

Preferred

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
Experience using versioned databases
Experience programming using SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python
Spatial analysis experience in the utility sector
