Responsibilities

Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring continuous improvement and reliability
Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues effectively
Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to standardize operations and maintain quality
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities
Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process improvements

Required

Requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
Typically entry-level 0-2 years of experience
Basic understanding of manufacturing principles and practices, engineering techniques and methodologies
Working knowledge in CAD software (Computer-Aided Design)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to assist in process documentation and standardization
Ability to support production line setup and troubleshooting
Familiarity with equipment troubleshooting and repair

Preferred

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Proficiency in additional engineering software tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Proven track record in a space or aerospace manufacturing setting
In-depth understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including structures, mechanisms, avionics, propulsion, and high-pressure systems
Demonstrated ability to create and implement processes from the ground up, with strong communication skills to engage a diverse team
Successful introduction of new aerospace hardware systems into manufacturing, testing, and production environments
Experience in implementing AS9100 quality standards
Proficiency in onboarding MES, PLM, and ERP systems
