They are seeking a part-time Research Phlebotomist to conduct venipuncture and process laboratory specimens for clinical trials while ensuring adherence to protocols and providing empathetic care to research participants.

Responsibilities

Serve as an in-house phlebotomist for all active clinical trials. Responsibilities include drawing blood, processing blood and urine samples, packaging, and shipping out all samples in adherence to applicable protocols
Provide empathetic care, clear communication, and a calming presence to all research participants engaging in specimen collections
Perform assigned tasks as needed to support the research team like assessments, ECGs and checking vital signs
Operate in a self-directed manner, with support from the research team regarding the specifics of the clinical trial as needed
Maintain secure and accurate data collection and record-keeping to ensure research integrity
Ensure organization and maintenance of all study materials to support research activities
Frequently travel within the community to provide accessibility to research opportunities for local families
Procure dry ice from local suppliers to facilitate the preparation of frozen specimen shipments
Transport laboratory samples to designated local couriers for timely shipments to central laboratories
Other duties as assigned

Required

Active Phlebotomy License in the state of California
1+ years of experience in pediatric phlebotomy and procedures
