Director of Purchasing

Confidential company is seeking a Purchasing Director to manage procurement activities. The role involves developing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring alignment with operational and financial goals.

Marketing & Advertising

Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best terms and conditions
Monitor and analyze purchasing trends to forecast future needs
Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors
Oversee the procurement budget and ensure financial efficiency
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to procurement
Lead, coach, and develop a team of purchasing professionals
Collaborate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs
Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the purchasing department
Evaluate and improve existing procurement processes
Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of procurement orders
Equipment Management tracking and managing repairs
Help develop a process for Par Levels

Required

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field
Extensive experience in a senior procurement role
Strong understanding of market dynamics and procurement best practices
Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations
Advanced analytical and decision-making skills
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage vendor relationships
Solid understanding of financial principles related to procurement
Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Up-to-date knowledge of purchasing practices and market conditions
Ability to work with operations team to look at equipment that will help with cost efficiencies

Preferred

Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, CPSM) Helpful
