Senior BI Developer / Data Engineer (QuickSight)

Full Spectrum partners with leading companies developing safety critical systems and is seeking a curious and customer-focused BI Developer and Data Engineer. This role focuses on converting existing Tableau dashboards to QuickSight and developing new dashboards and data pipelines in AWS, acting as a crucial link between raw data and business decision-making.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal customers to understand their business challenges, gather data requirements, and translate them into technical solutions and analytical frameworks
Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain insightful and user-friendly dashboards in Amazon QuickSight, ensuring data is visualized effectively to answer key business questions. Migrate existing Tableau dashboards to QuickSight
Data Modeling & Querying: Develop and manage curated data models and sources that are optimized for business intelligence. Utilize SQL and AWS Athena to query and analyze large datasets
Data Preparation: Perform light ETL/ELT tasks as needed to prepare and cleanse data for analysis and reporting
Cloud Analytics: Leverage AWS services such as Redshift, Lambda, Athena, and Glue to support analytics workflows
Problem Solving: Act as a data subject matter expert, troubleshooting data inconsistencies and providing analytical support to business users

Required

5+ years' experience in a business intelligence or data engineering role
Proficiency with Tableau and Amazon QuickSight for creating compelling and accurate visualizations
Strong proficiency in SQL for complex querying and data analysis
Hands-on experience with the AWS cloud platform, particularly with Athena, Glue, S3, Redshift, and Lambda
Proficiency in Python for data analysis and scripting
Ability to design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines
Experience with data modeling and schema design
Experience with data visualization techniques
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
Demonstrated commitment to high quality
Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or equivalent years of experience

Preferred

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation
Familiarity with software development best practices (e.g., version control with Git, CI/CD, etc.)
