Responsibilities

Branch Chief for Inventory Management Policy and Operations, expert analyst/advisor to leadership on Inventory, Disposal, and Demilitarization by overseeing policy, collaborating Major Subordinate Commands, and implementing improvement initiatives
Develops and manages Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance and effectiveness of policies for receiving, storing, issuing, and disposal
Evaluates enterprise-level functional processes, identifies areas for improvement, and recommends solutions to maximize performance outcomes
Oversee critical Department of War (DoW) programs, including the Demilitarization, Trade Security Control and Disposal Programs
Manage inventory reconciliation efforts for DLA’s inventory portfolio, directing over $25 billion in DLA-owned working capital and supporting over $60 billion in service-owned material
Advises senior agency management in defining performance targets and developing long-range process improvement plans to help achieve/exceed expected performance

Selectees are required to have a REAL ID or other acceptable identification documents to access certain federal facilities
Defense Acquisition Workforce position. Must complete DoD certification and other requirements
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position
To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement
Creditable specialized experience includes: Represents the organization in high-level forums and advises senior leadership on key inventory management policies, disposal, and regulations
Developing and implementing policy strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure full compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
Analyzing performance data and evaluates program effectiveness to develop and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and resource utilization
Developing proposals for new or revised process structures to improve overall performance and effectiveness
Position requires DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics, Advanced certification within required timeframes
Selectee must also achieve 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every 2-years
