Lead Audio Video Technician

Responsibilities

Projector, flat panel, and screen installation and calibration
Manage van stock, tools, maintenance, and appearance
Meet with project manager to ensure timeline and expectations
Communicate effectively with and take direction from Lead Technicians and Project Manager
Review sales orders, product lists, and scope of work prior to deploying equipment
Responsible for all aspects of onsite installation of AV systems
Set up, pre-configure, and program networks, control systems, cameras, and NVRs
Communicate with Project Manager on schedule and expected completion dates
Provide daily updates to project documentation and work orders in job management software
Enter accurate time clock entries and job costing
Make decisions and be accountable for Time and Materials
Participate in on-call rotation as required
Local travel to job sites required; occasional out-of-town travel for clients with multiple residences or specialized projects
Maintain fiscal responsibility for all assigned assets and property
Deliver excellent customer service, including working with high-profile and high-demand customers
Safeguard client confidentiality and ensure network/home security

Qualification

Required

Minimum of 4+ years of experience in AV installation or similar industry
Comprehensive understanding of all systems, including audio, video, security, lighting, and their seamless integration
Programming experience tailored to AV requirements
Ability to interpret home schematics, plans, and blueprints
Proficiency in low-voltage wiring and connectivity standards
Proven troubleshooting skills
Experience with rough-in and trim-out work, preferably in custom integration
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and passing criminal background check required
Ability to stand, stoop, or bend for prolonged periods
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
Ability to work in confined spaces and at ladder height
Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures

Preferred

Technical training or certification in low voltage systems preferred
Control4 or Crestron certification—or willingness to become certified—is highly desirable
Ability or willingness to become an Alarm Qualified Agent
Continuing education in audio, video, security, and lighting systems is essential
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment
Basic computer proficiency and ability to become proficient in in-house job management software
Security license or similar credentials preferred
