Prognostics Design Internship – Engineering Focus (Summer 2026)
RoboStruct Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to support their Fleet Health Management and Remote Diagnostics team. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a unified framework for Vehicle and Fleet Health Management, focusing on predictive diagnostics and intelligent fault management across vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities
Support initiatives related to Fleet Health Management (FHM) and Prognostics and Health Management (PHM)
Contribute to the development of a unified framework for monitoring and managing vehicle health across individual vehicles and fleet-level systems
Assist in developing models that represent the health of vehicle components, subsystems, and complete systems using telemetry data, engineering inputs, and software diagnostics
Support the creation of a scalable diagnostic knowledge base that integrates vehicle architecture, hardware, and software and can be applied across multiple vehicle configurations
Apply machine learning techniques to identify early indicators of potential failures, support root cause analysis, and assist with mitigation strategies
Explore the application of knowledge graphs and large language models to enhance diagnostic reasoning, automate logic generation, and improve system transparency and scalability
Collaborate with technical specialists and system architects to translate engineering knowledge into actionable diagnostic and prognostic models
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts applied to Prognostics and Health Management (PHM), including early failure detection and fault isolation
Solid foundation in systems engineering or vehicle architecture concepts
Experience or academic exposure to data analysis and machine learning, particularly time-series data and anomaly detection
Familiarity with PHM methodologies and concepts
Exposure to knowledge representation techniques, such as knowledge graphs
Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages, along with relevant AI/ML libraries
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Field of study in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program at an accredited institution
Ability to provide proof of current or upcoming enrollment in a graduate program
Experience or academic exposure to vehicle telemetry systems or signal processing
Familiarity with large language models or generative AI frameworks
Exposure to semantic modeling or ontology development concepts
