Data Analyst ADMINISTRATOR III
The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) is dedicated to positively changing the lives of more than 1 million Marylanders each year. They are seeking a Data Analyst Administrator III to collate, organize, analyze, and present performance metrics and indicators for strategic management decisions to enhance departmental performance and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Coordinate data collection from various sources including the Child Support Management System (CSMS), the E&E system through the worker portal, and the Works system
Design and collect data from local departments through surveys
Analyze data from various sources using appropriate statistical tools such as SAS (Statistical Analysis Software) for data analysis, Microsoft Excel and Google sheet which offer a variety of tools like V lookup, macros, and pivot tables that are very effective to analyze data
Determine and use the appropriate tools or software such as Microsoft Power BI., Tableau, Qlik Sense, Looker, Zoho Analytics, Domo, for data presentation to management and other stakeholders for strategic policy decisions, developments, evaluations, and improvements
Respond to data requests from DHS leadership and various stakeholders and partners, including the Governor’s office, Maryland General Assembly, legislative auditors, and relevant federal agencies
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Six years of administrative staff or professional work
Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience
Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience
Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information system, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is often preferred
One year of experience in any of the programming languages Python, Java, R, or SAS
One year of experience working with relational databases SQL, Amazon Redshift, and Google BigQuery
One year of experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Zoho
