Manager, Compliance and Privacy Data Analyst

Care New England is a health system that includes several hospitals and healthcare services. They are seeking a Manager for Compliance and Privacy Data Analysis to lead compliance and privacy reporting functions, conduct investigations, and support various compliance projects.

Responsibilities

Design business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department
Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy
Track and identify trends in reported compliance issues and inquiries
Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout
Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports
Create business reports and dashboards that provide insight into key data points
Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
Assists the Team with the maintenance of electronic data management systems in use in the Department
Assists the Privacy team with the coordination, development, facilitation, and enhancement of the Privacy Program
Assists the VP and Director with coordinating system wide privacy and compliance projects which may include working closely with Information Security, Information Services, Human Resources, or operations teams to identify and implement process or system changes
Assists implementing privacy-related training and education to enhance awareness of compliance obligations and privacy best practices in higher education
Responsible for the collection and analysis of privacy program data and analytics and develops reports
Responds to general privacy questions and inquiries and provides information and referrals, as appropriate
Provides support to privacy-related initiatives including the planning and performance of privacy-based risk assessments and data-inventory processes
Provides support to the Director of Compliance and Privacy Operations and members of the compliance team in meeting federal and state reporting requirements, including the Office for Civil Rights, regarding breach notification and follow-up investigations
Maintains a working knowledge of relevant privacy laws, regulations, rules, and standards and keeps abreast of privacy trends impacting higher education
Routinely conducts rounds at assigned Affiliates to foster a culture of compliance and perform HIPAA Privacy and Security walkthroughs
Manages the compilation and dissemination of findings and corrective actions to management
Ensures remediation plan in place to address actions
Assists the Director with requests for data sharing with external entities
Assists and supports the Compliance Team with investigations of alleged misconduct
Assisting the Compliance Team with the management of general audits identified on the Annual Workplan and other audits as needed
Develops appropriate monitoring activities to assess compliance with policies
Responsible to ensure monitoring is occurring on a consistent basis
Assists with implementation of regular health care compliance training and education
Supports the Vice President and Director with Board and various committee meeting preparation, including presentations, data, and related materials
Supports the activities of the Compliance Committee, and implementation of the Compliance work plan
Assists with monitoring the compliance hotline to ensure appropriate response and resolution
Develops a strong understanding of the Compliance Services software tools to help optimize each tool to full potential
Cooperates with the regulators (e.g., CMS, OIG, OCR, State Attorney General, etc) and other parties, as appropriate, in any privacy or compliance audits and/or investigations
Participates in committees and workgroups representing CNE Compliance Services as requested
Handles all compliance and privacy matters with sensitivity and maintains strict confidentiality of all work material and activities
At the direction of the Director performs special projects related to CNE operational areas
Supports the development and implementation of a sustainable Privacy and Compliance management program
Functions as resource to others in matters related to compliance and privacy auditing activities
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with Leadership
Maintains and enhances professional knowledge through participation in and affiliation with appropriate professional associations

Required

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a data analyst, and/or 6–8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in healthcare compliance and/or privacy-related roles within a healthcare setting
Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts
Experience with Tableau and/or Microsoft PowerBI
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) required within 12 months of hire
Other related Certifications can be considered in place of the CHC certification (CPHRM)

Preferred

Experience with Artificial Intelligence, Fairwarning/AIP and/or Privacy Surveillance software, Revenue Cycle Audit solutions, and electronic health records
