Responsibilities

Design complete show systems: audio, video, lighting, power distribution, rigging, and control networks
Create detailed wiring plans, I/O charts, gear lists and technical documentation
Conduct venue site surveys, evaluate power and rigging points, assess feasibility
Lead technical execution of load-in, setup, rehearsal, live show and strike
Oversee quality control of all show systems before and during events
Collaborate with production team to ensure technical specs fit within budget
Maintain project deadlines and monitor event timelines to ensure on-time execution
Lead multi-camera broadcast workflows, including switching, routing, shading, and graphics
Oversee streaming setups: encoders, hybrid platforms, redundancy strategies, remote presenter integration
Manage color, audio, sync, latency, and broadcast-quality standards
Operate or supervise operation of systems (ATEM, Ross, Analog Way, Barco, Yamaha, MA Lighting, etc.)
Familiar with broadcast routing and distribution, Clear-Com/RTS comms
Ability to configure and troubleshoot hardware and software devices used in live and broadcast environment
Manage technical crews across all disciplines (A1, A2, V1, V2, L1, L2, Riggers, Stagehands)
Collaborate with producers, project managers, scenic designers, creative directors, and clients
Communicate technical solutions and challenges clearly to all stakeholders
Coordinate vendor relationships, rental houses, gear fulfillment, and logistics
Maintain project deadlines and monitor event timelines to ensure on-time execution, with concise documentation
Support equipment prep, testing, firmware updates, and configuration
Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, AV standards, and emerging technology
Ensure load-in/load-out safety and compliance with OSHA, ETCP, NEC, and BRP protocols

Required

5-7+ years in live events, broadcast, hybrid & virtual productions, with direct responsibility for technical direction, client communications, crew management, and systems designs and integration for shows in the 750-3,000 attendee range
Strong technical competency with broadcast and live-event equipment: video switchers, LED walls, lighting consoles, audio mixers, lighting & rigging systems; ability to design and configure scalable solutions
Knowledge of Computer networking, including IP addressing, Dante/NDI, VLAN structures and AV-over-IP workflows
Ability to lead technical crews, coordinate cross-functional teams (lighting, sound, video, stage), assign roles, and maintain organization under pressure and on time
Fluency in communicating technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders (producers, clients, creative teams) and coordinating across departments
Ability to remain calm, think clearly, and troubleshoot technical issues in real-time during events or broadcasts
Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, technical documentation tools and understanding of Vectorworks
Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and travel for events as needed

Preferred

Degree or training in broadcasting, media technology, technical project management, technical production, engineering, or related fields
Certifications in broadcast/AV/production safety or technical standards are a plus
