Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis using a combination of hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, and Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAD
Conduct static, fatigue, and dynamic structural assessments to ensure mechanical integrity under operational and environmental conditions
Perform rotor dynamics, torsional system dynamic analysis, and environmental equivalence assessments to support system design and validation
Develop, execute, and interpret FEA models to predict stress, deflection, and vibration characteristics of mechanical and rotating components
Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to define analysis requirements, review results, and optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal design reviews and customer approvals
Support qualification testing by correlating analytical predictions with empirical test results
Ensure all analyses and documentation comply with ITAR, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
5+ years of experience in structural and dynamic analysis within aerospace or related industries
Proficiency with ANSYS, ABAQUS, and Siemens NX tools for modeling and simulation
Strong knowledge of rotordynamics, vibration analysis, and fatigue life assessment
Solid understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical design principles
U.S. Citizenship (required per ITAR compliance)
Preferred
Experience with aerospace rotating machinery (actuation systems, propulsion, or power generation)
Familiarity with environmental qualification standards (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc.)
Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment
