Systems Engineer Intern

Responsibilities
Systems Engineering support role for products including:
Allocation of system requirements
Allocation of system tests and evaluations
Reliability analyses of articles and total systems
Validate article and system test configurations
Develop and validate test equipment and procedure requirements
Perform hands-on construction of article and system test equipment
Participate with system of processes development for (FAA) requirement and regulation compliance
Developing systems engineering reports and reliability analyses
Drafting test plans and procedures
On the job learning of Systems Engineering principles and Meggitt Tucson Processes
Drafting of Engineering Changes at the direction of Engineers
Employ knowledge and skills learned from school in day-to-day work
Regular contact with Electrical Engineers, Laboratory Technicians, Electrical and Systems Engineers, and Quality Assurance team members at Meggitt Tucson’s facility
Develop positive and professional working relationships to accomplish tasks
Accountable to generate accurate documentation at the direction of Electrical Engineers, Airworthiness Personnel, Laboratory Technicians
Accountable to maintain a perspective of constant learning
Accountable to keep track of assignments and prioritize tasks at the discretion of the Engineering Manager
Accountable to effectively manage work and school balance
Accountable to participate in department improvement initiatives
Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required
Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently studying under a BSSE, BSME, or BSEE at a 4 year university (Studying under a postgraduate degree is also acceptable)
Currently enrolled in Junior level Engineering classes (300 level) or higher level with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel)
Proficient organizational skills and the ability to prioritize according to urgency while remaining flexible to changing situations
Proficient communication skills; both verbal and written/grammar
Proficient analytical skills
Self-motivated
Must be detail oriented
Able to manage multiple, concurrent priorities
Proven track record of commitment to schoolwork
Candidates must be local to the Tucson/Oro Valley areas
Preferred
Basic knowledge of systems engineering preferred
