They are seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer to support and operate QA and production database environments, focusing on SQL Server administration and performance tuning.

Responsibilities
Support and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
Perform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration updates
Analyze and tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures to ensure reliable performance
Monitor database health, job execution, and performance trends; respond to alerts and incidents
Support existing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups
Participate in scheduled failover and disaster recovery testing
Work closely with application engineers to review schema changes and optimize queries
Assist with database deployments and CI/CD processes
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
Gain exposure to Snowflake and MongoDB environments as needed
Qualification
Required
3–6 years of experience supporting SQL Server in a production environment
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and/or Azure)
Proficiency with T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query tuning
Experience with database monitoring, maintenance, and incident support
Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery concepts (e.g., AlwaysOn)
Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell or similar)
Understanding of database security and access controls
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred
Exposure to Snowflake and MongoDB environments as needed
