Responsibilities
Conduct technical zoning reviews for a wide range of residential and commercial projects, including additions, new single-family homes, accessory structures, and signage
Evaluate compliance with zoning requirements such as setbacks, lot coverage, floor area, and impervious surface coverage, as well as compliance with the Village’s Sign Code
Maintain accurate records, assist with permitting and licensing software administration, and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Conduct limited field research related to permits, perform zoning-related research and special projects, and provide general administrative support to the team
Qualification
Required
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to read and interpret zoning regulations and construction drawings
Excellent attention to detail
At least three years of related experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Proficiency with GIS
Proficiency with permitting software
Proficiency with electronic plan review tools
Preferred
Experience with permitting or zoning review
Some college coursework preferred—ideally in planning, architecture, construction, engineering, or a related field
Experience with Bluebeam Revu
