VDI Support Engineer
Xcelligen Inc. is seeking a skilled VDI Support Engineer to support the deployment of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions across multiple PACAF sites. The engineer will be responsible for implementing and configuring infrastructure, VMware vSphere, and various software components to ensure a seamless virtual desktop environment.
Responsibilities
Verify existing infrastructure for Horizon Virtual Desktops requirements
Configure hardware, virtual networks, subnets, and security integration
Integrate on-premise Data Center with security and privileged access management
Verify and configure ESXi on up to twelve (12) UCS servers
Deploy VMware vCenter Server Appliances (vCSA) and configure management networking
Create Desktop & Management clusters, configure DRS and HA, and add ESXi hosts to clusters
Configure vSphere distributed switches, vMotion networking, and VLAN distributed port groups
Deploy Windows Server Virtual Machines and install Horizon Connection Server software
Configure Horizon policies, settings, Events Database, and integrate with Active Directory Domain
Configure Horizon Edge Gateway, load balancing, and install certificates
Deploy and configure Omnissa App Volumes software and templates
Deploy Unified Access Gateways via PowerShell and configure remote access settings
Deploy Nvidia DLS license appliances and configure DLS Fault Tolerance and licenses
Deploy Nvidia VIBs on ESXi hosts
Install DEM Management Console, create file shares, and configure settings
Deploy Windows Desktop VM for Application Profiler and configure FSLogix settings
Prepare Horizon and DEM Policies via GPO, create Active Directory OUs and Groups
Migrate and optimize Virtual Desktop Base Image, integrate required software and customizations
Create Horizon Instant Clone Windows desktop pools
Deploy Cloud Pod Architecture, initialize pods, and create Global entitlements
Perform ATP to ensure successful implementation and gather stakeholder sign-off
Conduct Knowledge Transfer sessions, up to one per site, with a maximum of two hours per session
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Proven experience in deploying and managing VMware vSphere and Horizon environments
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, security integration, and Active Directory
Experience with Nvidia GRID, Dynamic Environment Manager, and Microsoft FSLogix
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills for conducting knowledge transfer sessions
Preferred
Certifications in VMware, Microsoft, or related technologies
Experience with Pure Storage and Cisco UCS servers
Familiarity with load balancing and certificate management
