Program Coordinator

Silver Lining Mentoring empowers youth in foster care to thrive through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life-skills. The Program Coordinator will help cultivate long-term mentor/mentee relationships for youth in foster care and manage caseloads while providing trauma-informed support.

Responsibilities

Caseload Management: Provide clinically-informed guidance to a caseload of mentee-mentor matches, ensuring program quality and relationship longevity
Volunteer Development: Maintain consistent contact with mentors to build their skills and help them navigate the unique needs of their mentees
Stakeholder Liaison: Proactively communicate with social workers, caregivers, clinicians, and the Department of Children and Families (DCF)
Resource Brokering: Act as a trauma-informed resource bridge for youth and mentors needing additional support services
Safety: Mediate relationship challenges, manage safety concerns according to SLM policies
Data Entry: Maintain meticulous data entry in our Salesforce CRM database & support evaluation efforts
Community Engagement: Support programming and organization-wide events, including mentoring group activities and the annual Match Gala
Continuous Quality Improvement: Collaborate within and beyond the regional programming team to identify trends and best practices to continue meeting mentee and mentors needs
(Track 1) Enrollment & Matching Focus: Mentor Recruitment, Screening and Training (25%): Work collaboratively with the Volunteer Management & Program teams to recruit mentors whose identities reflect those of the young people we serve. Ensure program quality related to the screening of volunteer mentor candidates, co-facilitate mentor training, and conduct weekly mentor candidate interviews
(Track 1) Mentee & Mentor Matching (10%): Review application materials to identify potential matches; lead the efforts to pair waitlisted youth with the right volunteer mentors. Work collaboratively with Program teams to orient new and waitlisted mentees to SLM
(Track 2) Learn & Earn Facilitator Focus: Life Skills Program Delivery & Admin (25%): Deliver the “Learn & Earn” curriculum in group-based settings (typically in a youth’s residential placement), liaise with partner staff to lead life skills workshops, and manage all workshop logistics including: cohort enrollment, scheduling guest speakers, and coordinating financial compensation for youth participants

Required

Applicants must be a resident of MA, NH or RI
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), a comparable degree, OR work experience that demonstrates skill in providing youth-focused, trauma-informed, harm reduction, and strengths-based support
Proven record of reliability when managing multiple responsibilities and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build trusting relationships
High level of self-awareness, accountability, and adaptability
Ability to manage projects and maintain a large plate of varied tasks to support mentor-mentee matches
Strong oral and written communication skills
Very organized
Experience creating and delivering presentations
Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective engagement with audiences
Ability to use existing resources and locate new-to-SLM resources to further work
Ability to manage a library of material and maintain consistent documentation
Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, SalesForce, and Box software
Ability to work well with others and independently
Willingness to receive and incorporate feedback
Flexibility in an ever-evolving environment

Preferred

LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or comparable human services licensure
Experience working with youth with out-of-home experience, young people of color, and/or youth who identify as LGBTQ and/or TGNC
Bilingual or fluent in Spanish
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to workshops and evening/weekend events (preferred for track 1, required for track 2)
