Responsibilities
Design and develop components and systems for electric drive mining trucks from concept through production release, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and cost targets are met
Create and maintain 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using industry-standard tools, adhering to internal standards and best practices
Present and defend design concepts and recommendations to peers, stakeholders, and management
Collaborate closely with various teams—including engineering, manufacturing, testing , and 3rd parties—to ensure design feasibility and integration
Develop and execute validation plans, including hand calculations, bench testing, and field testing, to confirm performance and reliability of new designs
Release parts and assemblies into the production system, supporting all required documentation and processes
Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain, and support components, products, and/or services
Take ownership of your personal development by actively building technical skills and seeking feedback to continuously improve performance and contributions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, required
Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), required
Preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering analysis, design, machine application, mining industry, desired
Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and /or (CAE) tools, desired
Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired
Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired
Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial
