Pioneer Institute for Public Policy Research is seeking a highly talented Paralegal to support their fast-paced public interest law practice. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support throughout the lifecycle of legal cases and maintain effective communication with clients and attorneys.

Responsibilities

Document management: prepare and distribute discovery and subpoena responses to courts, opposing counsel, experts and clients. Scan, upload, and distribute case documents. Coordinate hand deliveries and e-file with courts
Maintain attorney’s calendar by planning and scheduling conferences with clients, opposing counsel and experts. Schedule depositions, Court dates, Conciliations and settlement conferences, as well as monitoring and responding to emails
Assist with trial preparation by organizing documents, preparing exhibits, and scheduling witnesses
Frequent client contact to initiate client intakes, run conflicts, schedule court hearings and Conciliation preparation; provide clients with updates and responses to inquiries

Required

strong knowledge of the litigation process in state and federal court
ability to provide administrative support to the lifecycle of the case
Document management: prepare and distribute discovery and subpoena responses to courts, opposing counsel, experts and clients
Scan, upload, and distribute case documents

Maintain attorney's calendar by planning and scheduling conferences with clients, opposing counsel and experts

A team player with 4+ years' experience as a legal assistant/paralegal
possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Document Management, Workflow
