Open Rank IT Professional – Entry, Intermediate, or Senior
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is looking for a full-time Information Technology (IT) Professional to join their enterprise-wide desktop support team. This role will provide desktop information technology support for departments within the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health, serving approximately 400 to 500 users.

Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, including Macintosh and PC devices
Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications in order to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties
Interact with users to determine problems, analyze situations, identify the source of the problems, determine appropriate solutions, and take the proper actions required to solve the problems
Advise, research, and recommend hardware solutions for end users; purchase and set up devices, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and printers
Advise, research, and recommend small office audio/video conferencing solutions (AV)
Perform a variety of maintenance, evaluation, and training tasks to ensure optimal computer performance and user experience
Maintain a work log of IT tickets in Zendesk and maintenance tasks
Act as the initial point of contact for all computer and system-related concerns from our clients
Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage
Maintain IT asset inventory for client base
Attend in-person meetings with clients to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware problems
Utilize Microsoft Active Directory to manage Organizational Units, Security Groups, Computers, and Users
Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions; work with the University’s IT department to resolve network issues
Provide IT support for senior leadership in the Dean’s Office or when urgent support is needed, and backup support is not available
Intermediate and Senior levels will act as a leader to IT Entry Professionals, students, and interns to assist and mentor as needed
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
One to two (1-2) years of experience providing hands-on desktop support for Windows and Macintosh systems
Two to four (2-4) years of experience providing hands-on desktop support for Windows and Macintosh systems
A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis
Outstanding customer service skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
Accept constructive criticism and customer feedback regarding their experience with software or IT services
Strong working knowledge of both Macintosh and PC operating systems, including troubleshooting steps to resolve problems
Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems
Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and related hardware and software
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (group and user permissions), DNS services, and TCP/IP networking
Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
Ability to provide technical training to end users, including being able to communicate technical information in a manner that non-technical personnel can understand
Preferred
Experience assisting others through company help desk software, such as Zendesk or similar, in addition to other remote access desktop programs
Experience providing technical training and support to users
Experience providing advanced-level desktop/network support
Experience supporting information technologies in an academic environment
Experience working with a wide range of computer network systems, including Windows servers and networking applications
Experience with internal PC components
Knowledge of basic audio-visual solutions for office video conferencing solutions
