Content Programmer II, Social + App Programming

Discovery is a global leader in media and entertainment, and they are seeking a soccer-savvy Programmer to assist with the daily programming and curation of Bleacher Report's Football social media handles and app. The role involves executing social content calendars, engaging with the audience, and collaborating with various teams to implement content plans.

Responsibilities

Execute social content calendars; daily community management
Cover games and react to news in real time on B/R Football’s handles and app
Create original posts and find new ways to engage with our audience
Liaise with editorial, multimedia, production, creative, programming to implement content plans
Monitor social web, sports news sites, blogs, athletes pages for relevant and useful content
Edit video content in Adobe Premiere in various sizes needed for each platform, especially vertical video editing for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube – which can include adding captions and on-screen imagery
Games happen around the clock — this is •not• a Monday-through-Friday 9-5 job

Required

Soccer-savvy Programmer
Experience with daily programming & curation of social media handles
Ability to execute social content calendars
Experience with daily community management
Ability to cover games and react to news in real time
Experience creating original posts and engaging with audiences
Ability to liaise with editorial, multimedia, production, creative, programming to implement content plans
Experience monitoring social web, sports news sites, blogs, athletes pages for relevant content
Proficiency in editing video content in Adobe Premiere
Experience with vertical video editing for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube
Ability to add captions and on-screen imagery to video content
Willingness to work outside of a traditional Monday-through-Friday 9-5 schedule
