Northeast Safety Specialist
Osmose Utilities is seeking a Safety Specialist II to improve safety performance and support the Osmose Safety Management Program in the Northeast US. The role involves collaborating with field personnel and management to ensure safety policies are implemented and effective, conducting safety inspections, and providing training and support.

Responsibilities
Ensure hazard and risk assessment and control measures are in place, utilized, and effective; address risks and safety concerns; improve safety performance; identify and share best practices
Conduct and document safety inspections and audits; provide field operations personnel with on-the-spot constructive feedback and coaching to improve knowledge, understanding, behaviors, and performance
Advise and assist field operations personnel with company, customer, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, and EPA)
Monitor and assist with reporting, internal communication, and proper management of incidents, including injury/illness evaluation and first aid guidance
Collaborate with field management and risk management teams to ensure injury, vehicle, and property damage incidents (cases and claims) are properly managed
Assist with and/or review investigations into safety-related incidents; recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
Monitor safety performance metrics and trends (leading and lagging indicators) and recommend and support corrective actions to improve
Assist with the communication, implementation, and oversight of safety-related policies, programs, and procedures
Assist with development and delivery of safety-related communications and training (alerts, bulletins, meetings, presentations, videos, etc.)
Represent and support Operations and Safety during customer visits and interactions
Qualification
Required
Must be authorized to work in US without sponsorship
Associate's (two-year) degree; bachelor's degree preferred
At least three years of work experience, which include safety responsibilities, in the utility, construction, or field service industry
Detailed knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulatory requirements, first aid, and CPR
Valid state driver's license
Experienced and adept at coaching employees, working with difficult people, and resolving difficult situations
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly and confidently to employees, supervisors, management, and customers. Must be able to write using proper spelling, grammar, and style
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
