Financial Analyst & Crude Accountant
United Refining Company is seeking a Financial Analyst & Crude Accountant to ensure the integrity of crude oil accounting transactions and support budgeting and forecasting processes. The role involves analyzing variances and trends, delivering financial insights, and preparing various reports related to crude accounting and operational plans.

Responsibilities
Account for all Company domestic & foreign crude purchases, inventories and runs
Prepare crude invoices for payment, reconcile at month end final volumes & prices
Issue sales invoices on batches that are sold in-transit
Prepare Crude journal entries and all other reports for month end reporting
Complete government reports weekly or monthly (i.e. Customs, EIA and CER reports)
Maintain open communications with crude suppliers (i.e.payments, invoicing & reconciliations)
Prepare GST letters before Calendar year end
Monitor USMCA certificates
Integration of Operations, Marketing, S&T and pricing forecasts into a consolidated annual company Operating Plan
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of volumetric and financial forecasts and analysis to management and staff
Ensure production, sales, purchases and price forecasts are consistent
Integrate annual operating plan with Financial Accounting Department to synchronize Operating Plan financial forecasts and actual income statement financial reports
Provide detailed financial analysis of operational changes and the impact on the Company’s operating income
Prepare weekly, monthly and annual operating plan including financial and volumetric forecasts and variance analysis. This includes weekly operating plan package (operating plan, pricing, weekly variances etc.)
Provide detailed financial analysis of company operations for the completion of the MAO portions of the annual & quarterly (formerly SEC 10Q & 10K) reporting
Compile information used in investor relations, annual & quarterly reporting, and various presentations. This information comes from Financial Accounting, Retail and various information sources
Provide external auditors documentation of analysis on a timely basis
Daily summarize & distribute market information, A.M. and noon
Daily input Retail transfer prices into the Data General for Billing to use, including emailing information to Retail & Country Fair
Maintain various worksheet-based databases and reports for various reporting (i.e. MDO & Operating Plan)
Preparation of PowerPoint presentations for Management
Oversee the outside sourced market systems (DTN & MarketView)
Provide analysis and data for market and pricing trends
Assist other departments with information requests, drawing on databases and other resources
Assist other departments on various tasks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
2-3 Years of relevant experience with a strong preference for experience in the oil and gas industry
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and interpret financial results
Regular and punctual attendance is required of all positions at United Refining Company
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to stand and walk periodically throughout the workday
Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull office materials weighing up to 25 pounds
Ability to work in a sedentary to light physical activity environment
