Project Controls Analyst
GeoStabilization International® (GSI) develops innovative solutions for geohazards and is seeking a Project Controls Analyst. This role supports project teams by providing detailed cost tracking, change control support, and financial analysis for construction projects, aiming to improve cost visibility and forecasting accuracy.
Construction
Responsibilities
Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
Assist with change order management, including log maintenance, pricing support, approval tracking, and financial impact analysis
Prepare monthly job cost reports, cost-to-complete analyses, and variance explanations
Support cash flow forecasting and earned value reporting
Reconcile project cost data between project management systems and accounting systems
Assist with WIP preparation and support timely monthly WIP reviews
Support project billings by validating cost data, percent complete, and approved change orders
Assist with monitoring project-level accounts receivable and collections status
Review project-level accounts payable activity to support accurate cost capture and cash flow visibility
Assist project managers with budget updates, forecast revisions, and financial performance reviews
Identify cost trends, risks, and anomalies and escalate concerns to the Project Controls Manager
Support month-end close activities related to job costs and project financials
Maintain accurate and organized project financial documentation
Assist with audits, internal reviews, and management reporting as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
2–5 years of experience in construction cost control, project accounting, or financial analysis
Working knowledge of construction job cost systems and project controls concepts
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams
Preferred
Experience in heavy civil, geotechnical, or specialty construction
Familiarity with change management and cost forecasting on active construction projects
Experience with construction accounting or ERP systems
